Mushrooms are among the world’s most delicious and nutritious foods, and Morgan Hill is proud of its role as a premier mushroom producer. California ranks second in the nation in mushroom production, and more than 60% of those mushrooms are grown in Santa Clara and Monterey counties. The Santa Clara Valley produces more than 20,000 tons of mushrooms with a total crop value of $50 million. Most of those mushrooms are white, Crimini and Portabella varieties. This flavorful mushroom soup from Monterey Mushrooms will be available near the giant inflatable mushroom at the festival. The festival version will be prepared by Catering by Diana with fresh, just-picked, locally grown mushrooms donated by local growers.
